To a Good Man – Steve Griest!
We love and appreciate ALL of our volunteers and supporters, but we are especially in awe and inspired by those very exceptional ones who take an extra-large step forward even though they have no family with neurofibromatosis.
Steve Griest has been one of these truly special supporters. Since the inception of Great Steps in Naperville over thirteen years ago, Steve has been there every year leading a group of friends and volunteers from the company he works for to set-up tents, unload trucks, handle parking and more.
In 2010, Steve started the Chip in Fore NF golf benefit. Reaching out to his network of friends and business acquaintances, he held five golf outings over that time and netted over $160,000 for NF! Steve also served on the NF Midwest board.
Unfortunately, all good (make that great!) work must come to an end. Steve led his last Chip in Fore NF golf outing on August 14th and has stepped down from the board.
Steve said his efforts “have always been directed at creating a better life for those with neurofibromatosis”.
You’re a good man, Steve Griest! Thank you for your years of dedication!
