Socialization Issues in Neurofibromatosis-1

Frequently some children and adults with neurofibromatosis type 1 have problems with socialization and making friends. At NF Midwest’s annual symposium on October 12, 2013 we invited Dr. Scott Hunter from the University of Chicago to address this issue and he gave us a wonderful presentation on Socialization in NF1: Why they occur and what to do to improve them. In case you missed our symposium, Dr. Hunter has allowed us to post his slides. We also hope to have an article in the near future.

Another great resource for sharing and learning from others regarding socialization and any other concerns is the NF Network’s Inspire Board.

Currently there are even several discussions regarding socialization and NF on the Inspire Board.
