New Care Guidelines for Children with NF1
The American Academy of Pediatrics has published an updated clinical guideline on the Health Supervision for Children With Neurofibromatosis Type 1 in the May journal Pediatrics.
This guideline is meant as a tool for physicians treating children with NF1 such as pediatricians, family practitioners, geneticists, neurologists, dermatologists. etc. We encourage parents to share this article with any one who might play a role in caring for their child with NF Type 1.
This new guideline was created by a dedicated, interdisciplinary group of experts in the care of individuals with NF1 including David T. Miller, MD, PhD, FAAP; Debra Freedenberg, MD, PhD, FAAP; Elizabeth Schorry, MD; Nicole J. Ullrich, MD, PhD; David Viskochil, MD, PhD; Bruce R. Korf, MD, PhD, FAAP; The Counceil on Genetics; and the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. NF Midwest thanks them all for their incredible work.
