Camp New Friends 2014
Having one of the neurofibromatoses (NF1, NF2, Schwannomatosis) is a lifelong challenge. Building a foundation of strength and knowledge; and developing a circle of friends that understand and will always be there, can make a lifelong difference.
Camp New Friends, run by Brainy Camps, is an opportunity for children (ages 7 to 17) to build this foundation. Often people with NF go through their lives knowing few, if any, other people with NF. At Camp New Friends kids are able to share and learn from others with NF, all while having a ton of fun. It’s very common for kids to come home and share how nice it was to simply swim with others who have café aulait spots just like them.
For the last 9 years and counting, NF Midwest has financially supported Camp New Friends which has enabled many kids from our Midwest region with financial need to attend.
In 2014, Camp New Friends will be held July 13th through July 19th in West Virginia. To register for camp and to apply for financial aid for camp tuition and/or travel, contact Brainy Camps directly at www.brainycamps.com.
If you have any general questions about camp or travel, call the NF Midwest office at 630-945-3562. NF Midwest staff has sent their own kids to Camp New Friends, so feel free to contact us!
